Sustainability/Environmental Impact
At Semihandmade, we prioritize sustainability, environmental responsibility, and the quality of every product we offer.
CARB 2 Compliance
All our products adhere to the CARB 2 standard, set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). CARB is a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency, established in 1967 to enhance air quality and address air pollution. CARB 2 compliance ensures that our materials, such as MDF (medium-density fiberboard), meet stringent guidelines for formaldehyde emissions. These standards, recognized as among the strictest in the United States, reflect our commitment to environmental responsibility.
LEED Certification
We are not LEED-certified. LEED certification requires NAUF (No Added Urea Formaldehyde) certification, a standard we don't currently meet due to the minimal use of formaldehyde in our materials.
Formaldehyde Presence
In essence, our materials contain a small amount of formaldehyde used in the manufacturing process. However, we assure our customers that everything offered by Semihandmade is considered safe and entirely suitable for use in an average home.
Conversion Varnish Finish
The conversion varnish finish applied to our Walnut doors also complies with strict California and U.S. standards, ensuring the highest quality and safety for our customers.
